Taking Responsibility

Each student is expected to deomonstrate the following code of conduct:

• Dress properly (according to dress code)
• Use respectful language
• Avoid physical contact with other students
• Regrain from participating in organizations that are disruptive to education (esp. gangs)
• Do not interfere with another student's education

Showing Respect

Each Cornerstone Academy student is expected to demonstrate an attitude of respect to:

• Other students by encouraging their achievement regardless of ability
• Teachers by addressing them properly and responding to their requests
• The school by keeping it clean and orderly.

Our Purpose

Cornerstone Academy is a private high school geared toward helping students from Chicago gain mastery in a traditional core curriculum and deepening their understanding of Christian teachings.

Frequently, our students have left other schools because they felt unnoticed, unassisted, unsuccessful, or unsafe. They came to Cornerstone Academy because they have the strong desire to complete the requirements for a high school diploma, but prefer more personal attention in a Christian setting.

Cornerstone provides students with a family-like environment conducive to learning, offering more individualized instruction and counseling. Our small size and student-to-faculty ratio permit us to give more focused attention to each of our students and their needs.
